Water & Wastewater Foundations


Service Description

This 3-Day workshop is strongly advised as a math/science refresher course prior to taking a Class 1 Water/Wastewater Certification Preparatory Course. The topics focus in on the particular math and science required by operators: • Arithmetic functions, units, and metric conversions • Ratios, percentages, and fractions • Problem-solving strategies and use of formulae in water/wastewater • Length, area, and volume calculations • Chemistry (pH, concentrations & molarity, dilutions, chemistry of chlorine and other commonly used chemicals in water/wastewater) • Microbiology, pathogens and water quality, microorganisms in water • Hydraulics and electricity. PREREQUISITES None. NOTE: Grade 12/GED 12 is required for Class 1 certification applications to the Operator Certification Board of Saskatchewan (www.saskocb.ca). Registrants in our courses without Grade 12/GED 12 are advised to be working towards Grade 12/GED 12. VENUE: Associated Engineering/ATAP Bldg. 2225 Northridge Drive, Saskatoon, SK

BOOKING CONFIRMATION/RECEIPT: Upon completion of your online booking/payment, a confirmation email will be sent to you from this website with another email to follow with a receipt (paid invoice). Please ensure that any email spam/junk filters are not blocking these emails. If you do not receive any emails after booking, please call ATAP at 306-244-8828. CANCELLATION POLICY: If the registrant cancels two weeks before a workshop/course or earlier, they are eligible for a full refund. Within two weeks of the start of the course/workshop, no refunds for cancellations are available unless ATAP cancels the training. The registrant who cancels in the two weeks prior to the start date will, however, have a credit that can be held for up to 1 year. Students who are absent, without informing ATAP of that absence prior to the course start, will receive a credit, which may be held up to 1 year, but are not eligible for a refund. Exam cancellations during a course: registrants must indicate at the time of registration (whether online or by telephone), the course exams they are writing (both, one, none). No credits or refunds will be available for exam cancellations once the course has begun. No examinations can be added during the course.
