Commissioning/Root Cause Analysis
Service Description
Two Half-Day Workshops Combined: COMMISSIONING YOUR PROJECT 101 In this interactive presentation, we will explore the theory, contractual obligations, and processes necessary for successfully commissioning projects, both large and small. Operators and Managers are often responsible for overseeing the commissioning of projects, whether complex or relatively simple. This process typically involves coordination between Engineers, Contractors, Owners, Operators, and other key stakeholders. By establishing a consistent plan and approach, commissioning doesn’t have to be a stressful or difficult task. Instead, it can become a collaborative effort where teams work together to ensure the project meets its intended goals, ultimately delivering valuable services to our communities." In this presentation we will cover: 1 An Overview of Project Execution\ 2 The development of a Commissioning Plan (not at the end of the Project). 3 How to systematically develop a process to Commission a Project. 4 The Contractual basics of Commissioning 5 What to do when things go wrong (tips to move forward) 6 The do’s and don’ts of Commissioning Process. 7 Operator involvement 8 Some practical examples and case studies of project Commissioning ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS Root Cause Analysis is often used in Occupational Health and Safety as a lesson learned tool to improve processes and overall approach to hazard control. The process can also be used to analyze issues that may have occurred in while operating a Water and Wastewater Facility. Examples of such events could be a process upset, unintentional spill or an unreported violation. Using Root Cause Analysis, the Operations Team can truly understand why things occurred and make changes to processes to avoid them in the future. The presentation will cover: - The basic principals of Root Cause Analysis. - The processes used when conducting a Root Cause Analysis. - How to conduct a Root Cause Analysis investigation. - Examples of actual events in water and wastewater facilities. Attendees will be introduced to the Root Cause Analysis, interact with some live examples and walk through a Root Cause Analysis of an actual event. Prerequisites: none. VENUE: Associated Engineering/ATAP 2225 Northridge Drive, Saskatoon, SK NOTE: CEU Credit is not granted by the Operator Certification Board of Saskatchewan if the same workshop has been taken more than once in two consecutive renewal periods. Workshop runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
