KEVIN SUTTER, A.SC.T. - Water & Wastewater Systems Specialist

A Water & Wastewater Ssystems Specialist, Kevin has over thirty years of experience in water and wastewater operations. Sixteen of these years were spent in supervisory and managerial roles in Class 3 (or above) municipal water and wastewater systems. He is a certified Technologist formerly trained in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. Kevin has volunteered many hours for various water and wastewater organization such as the Saskatchewan Water & Wastewater Association (SWWA), and Western Canada Water (WCW). He was also the recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Technical Achievement Award (Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists & Technicians).

 

TRACY HELMINK, B.S. PE., B.ED. AD, PGD ENV. ENG., CET - Water & Wastewater Systems Specialist

Tracy has over 25 years of experience in both the water and wastewater fields. She has extensive work experience with municipal and First Nation communities. Additionally, she is a certified Cross Connection Control Specialist. Over her varied career, Tracy has taught numerous operator courses and workshops and conducted heavy equipment training. Her volunteer experience includes a position on the Operator Certification Board of Saskatchewan.

 

DAVE HINZ, Water Systems Specialist

Dave has been working in water and wastewater operations over the past eight years. Prior to that, he had thirty years of teaching experience in secondary schools. He is a certified water and wastewater operator and part of the ATAP technical team in the field and also applies his extensive teaching skills to enhancing ATAP’s preparatory courses and continuing education unit workshops.

 

DAWN DIERKER, B.SC., CHSC - Training Manager

Dawn has 20 years of experience in water and wastewater operations. In addition to several years at ATAP, she also has four years of experience at SaskWater where she was a business development lead and project planner. Her previous water and wastewater experience included positions at Class 4 plants and laboratories. She has also held positions as the President of Western Canada Water and Chair of the Western Canada Section of the American Water Works Association.

 

BERTRAND GAUDET, A.SC.T. - Process Specialist

Bertrand has over 30 years of experience in industrial analytical laboratories, and is an experienced chemical engineering technologist. His main experiences in industry are the optimization of plant process and the assistance to operators in troubleshooting their operations.

 

JARED SUWALA, P.ENG. - ATAP Lead for Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation

Jared has 15 years of industry experience in the design of municipal infrastructure control and electrical systems. He has been directly involved in resident engineering, design, drawing preparation, system start-up, commissioning, and acceptance of instrumentation and control systems for a number of water and sewage treatment systems. In addition, he has provided design, drawing preparation, and commissioning services for industrial/municipal electrical systems. Jared has experience with multiple programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and has worked with most of the popular Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) packages. His background with computer science allows him to apply these skills to database management and custom data extraction applications. He has configured and implemented a number of custom interfaces for clients using such applications as MSSQL, Access, ARCView, and Excel. Jared has a Bachelor of Applied Science, as well as a Certificate of Computer Software Systems Engineering, both from the University of Regina.

 

JOSH BUNIAK - Operation and Maintenance Technician

Josh has over 15 years of combined operational experience in the public works and mechanical technology fields. He provides multiple technical field services such as reservoir cleaning and inspection, uni-directional flushing, swabbing, maintenance repairs and condition assessments for ATAP’s clients.
