Power Mobile Equipment (PME) Operator-Evaluator (Train-the-Trainer) One-Day Course in Saskatoon

Occupational Health & Safety Regulations (2007/08) require that all employers conduct an examination of the skills for each operator permitted to operate power mobile equipment.

This competency is monitored by a Certified Power Mobile Equipment Operator Evaluator. Evaluators are taught how to assess the skills of PME Operators and grade accordingly. ATAP uses course manuals, modules, and tests designed by the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Safety Association to train Operator Evaluators. ATAP's certified train-the-trainer instructor has successfully completed the Equipment Operator Evaluators Program and has over 18 years of experience operating municipal heavy equipment.

This one-day course, to be held in Saskatoon, includes both in-class theory training and outdoor practical application. Operators registering for this course must have at least 3 years of experience on Power Mobile Equipment.

Save your business or community thousands of dollars by safety-evaluating your own staff to comply with OH&S regulations.

CHANGES at ATAP Saskatchewan...

Congratulations Ken...

ATAP Saskatchewan bids farewell to Ken Turnbull as Group Manager of ATAP since 2008. We wish him well in his new position as Regina Branch Manager of our sister company, Associated Engineering (Sask.) Ltd. His extensive municipal experience, friendly disposition, and commitment to high-quality service, were immense assets to ATAP. He will be missed by staff, however Ken will continue to offer his services to ATAP as a southern Saskatchewan liaison contact to our clients.

New Role for Andrew...

Many of you may already be familiar with the new Group Manager at ATAP Saskatchewan, Andrew Stevenson. Andrew has been with ATAP Saskatchewan for over five years and is a familiar face to anyone in Saskatchewan who has taken ATAP courses and workshops, or who has required ATAP technical services in the field. His many years of public works experience (he is currently President of the Saskatchewan Public Works Association), along with his outstanding work ethic and commitment to service will ensure the continuation of ATAP's reputation for client-oriented service.

Welcome Josh...

Joshua Buniak, the new ATAP O&M Technician, comes to us from Rosthern, Saskatchewan. He has 3 years of operational experience in the public works field. His background also includes 3 years of Mechanical Engineering at SIAST and five years in the automotive and heavy truck industry. Josh is a Saskatchewan-certified water and wastewater operator. He is taking on Andrew's former duties, and will become a familiar face to our clientele.

ATAP Saskatchewan - New Faces - Instructors

ATAP Saskatchewan is very privileged to have secured the services of two highly respected Water & Wastewater Instructors, Rick Hanson and Dale Heshka (l and r, in picture at right).

Rick has been working with ATAP for a number of years, but since his retirement from the City of Prince Albert in 2009, he has been able to devote more time to ATAP courses and workshops.

Dale is new to ATAP this year, having taught our very first certification course in our new classroom in Regina in January, 2011. He comes our way from Melville, Saskatchewan. Both Rick and Dale will be familiar to our clients who are also members of the Saskatchewan Water and Wastewater Association (SWWA), as both men have been involved in the SWWA Board for several years.

New Website Launched

February 23, 2010

As our list of courses and workshops grows, so does our website! We are happy to be launching the first redesign of the site since its inception, and we hope the reworking makes it easier for our visitors to find the material they're after.

The biggest change has been to the courses section; no longer under news, courses now get their own page, and the detailed information for each course can be found immediately by clicking on the course title. We've also expanded the support information available on the site, including a Saskatoon hotels map, and more information on our services and regional contacts.

If you have any comments about the redesign, or suggestions about further development and features, please contact Cathy Lewty at lewtyc@ae.ca.
